By accessing or using String ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Service. 2. Description of Service
String is a live music request platform that connects fans with performing artists at live venues. Fans scan a QR code to access an artist's song menu, submit song requests, and pay for those requests through a web-based interface. Artists receive payments directly and manage their live queue in real time. No app download is required for fans.
3. User Accounts
Artists must create an account to use the Service. Artists are responsible for maintaining the security of their account credentials and for all activity that occurs under their account. Fans may use the Service without creating an account. Fans provide a display name at the time of each request and may optionally provide contact information. 4. Payments
Song requests require payment before entering the live queue. The fan pays the song price set by the artist plus a $1.50 platform fee, plus any applicable payment processing fees. The artist receives 100% of the song price via Stripe Connect. The $1.50 platform fee is retained by String to cover platform and processing costs. All payments are processed securely through Stripe. 5. Refunds
All song requests are at the artist's discretion. The artist is under no obligation to perform any requested song. No refunds are provided for requests that are not performed. The $1.50 platform fee is non-refundable, as it covers payment processing and platform costs already incurred. [REVIEW WITH ATTORNEY]
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose, to harass or abuse other users, to submit fraudulent payment information, to interfere with the operation of the Service, or to attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the platform. 7. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of the Service — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, and software — are the property of String and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Artists retain ownership of their song titles, likenesses, and any content they upload. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without prior written consent. [REVIEW WITH ATTORNEY]
8. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. String shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. We may revise these Terms of Service at any time by posting an updated version on this page. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the terms were last revised.
