DMCA and Copyright Policy
Effective Date: April 29, 2026
Last Updated: October 1, 2026
String Music, LLC ("String") respects the intellectual-property rights of others and expects users of stringmusic.live and the related services (the "Service") to do the same. This DMCA Policy describes how String responds to notices of alleged copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. § 512 (the "DMCA").
This Policy is incorporated into the Terms of Service by reference.
1. The Service Does Not Stream or License Recorded Music
The Service is a payment and display platform used in connection with live performances. The Service:
- Does not host, stream, or deliver recorded music to fans;
- Does not license public-performance rights to artists or venues;
- Displays metadata (song title, artist name, and album artwork from the iTunes Search API) for the purpose of identifying songs being requested.
Performance and reproduction rights are the responsibility of the performing artist or the venue, as applicable. See the Artist Agreement.
2. Designated Agent for Copyright Notices
String's designated agent receives notices of alleged infringement under the DMCA. To submit a notice, send a written communication that includes all of the elements described in Section 3 below to:
Designated Copyright Agent
String Music, LLC
Attn: DMCA Agent
Nashville, TN
Email: legal@stringmusic.live
A telephone number and mailing address for the designated agent are available on request at the email address above.
3. Notice of Alleged Infringement
To be effective under the DMCA, a notice of alleged infringement must be a written communication that includes substantially the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed;
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or, if multiple works at a single online site are covered by a single notice, a representative list of such works at that site);
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity, and information reasonably sufficient to permit String to locate the material (such as the URL of the page on which the material appears or the artist handle);
- Information reasonably sufficient to permit String to contact you, such as an address, telephone number, and, if available, an email address;
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
4. False or Misleading Notices
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material or activity is infringing — or that material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification — may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees, incurred by the alleged infringer, by any copyright owner or copyright owner's authorized licensee, or by the service provider.
Submit a DMCA notice only if you are confident that the material complained of is not authorized by you, your agent, or the law.
5. Counter-Notice Procedure
If you believe content you posted to the Service was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice to the designated agent at legal@stringmusic.live. To be effective, a counter-notice must be a written communication that includes substantially the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature;
- Identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled, and the location at which the material appeared before it was removed or access to it was disabled;
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification of the material;
- Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located, or, if your address is outside of the United States, for any judicial district in which String may be found, and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original notification or an agent of that person.
Upon receipt of a valid counter-notice, String will promptly provide a copy to the original complainant. If the original complainant does not file an action seeking a court order against the user within 10 to 14 business days, String may, in its discretion, restore the removed material.
6. Repeat-Infringer Policy
String will, in appropriate circumstances and at its discretion, terminate the accounts of users — including artists and partners — who are determined to be repeat infringers. A "repeat infringer" includes any user who has been the subject of multiple valid takedown notices or counter-notice proceedings resolved against them.
We may also terminate or restrict accounts in our discretion based on a single egregious instance of infringement, or based on facts and circumstances suggesting infringement, even where formal notice has not been received.
7. Trademark Concerns
If you believe content on the Service infringes your trademark rights, please contact legal@stringmusic.live with: (a) the trademark concerned and any registration details; (b) the specific content or account at issue; and (c) the basis for your belief that the use is infringing. Trademark complaints are not subject to the DMCA's safe-harbor process and are reviewed under our internal trademark-protection procedures.
8. Music-Performance Rights
If you are a songwriter, publisher, or performance rights organization with concerns about music being performed in connection with the Service, please be aware that:
- String does not perform or stream the music;
- The performance is conducted by the artist or facilitated by the venue at a physical location;
- The artist and the venue, not String, are responsible for clearing performance rights;
- We will, on receipt of a credible written request, provide a hosted artist or venue with notice of your concern and direct them to address the concern with you.
To raise such a concern, contact legal@stringmusic.live.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by reasonable means, which may include posting the updated Policy with a new effective date. Changes apply prospectively.
